History was made earlier this month as the teams from Guernsey and Jersey combined to field the first Channel Island Walking Football team to face a combined team from a number of UK clubs. We have been involved with the club since its original establishment a good few years ago, so it was only right that we were there to document history being made. We offered both our photography and videography services that weekend, and we were put through our paces. Despite a being walking version of the world’s most popular sport, man can’t they move!
We were privileged to speak with a number of representatives from visiting teams, who only had positive things to say about our club in little old Guernsey. Jersey’s club are looking to complete a similar setup to their sister Channel Island and whilst their participation numbers aren’t as high as ours currently, we expect that to grow exponentially in the next year or two. Our Director was pleased to share some of the basic marketing principles he put in place when he helped establish the club’s social media pages and online presence all those years ago, and who knows he may be travelling over the water to help them set up something similar in the not too distant future.
