This year has seen some spectacular sunsets and we have been treated to some very sunny blue sky afternoons, and a few weeks ago was no different. For the second year running, Rangers FC invited me along to their annual summer 7’s event which sees hundreds of young footballing stars put their skills to the test in the format which sees the clubs face each other in a knockout format. This year was a little special as it was the 125th Anniversary if clubs’ inception.
Unlike last year where we can distinctly remember dashing for cover under a tree along with the other parents as the heavens opened on the Memorial Fields down at Footes Lane. This year we were treated not only to the all generation playing surface on the 3G pitch, but we also had access to multiple temporary pitches on the existing cricket pitch. The facilities at KGV were top notch, with catering facilities and dedicated changing rooms which all made for a great setup.
We attended over both days of competition, dropping in to catch the last few games for both presentation sessions. We operated with just a single camera on the day, with a radio microphone in hand. The action was plentiful and plenty of goals were scored. Our services on the day also included photography which showcased the action on the pitch as well as all the award winners. Coupled with our video production services we put together a short summary of their tournament which you can see below.
