2012 witnessed me given my first opportunity to jump on board, literally, a flatbed truck crowded with national media representatives from the BBC & ITV. The 2012 London Olympic Games witnessed a great sporting showcase here in Britain but in the lead up to the games hundreds of thousands of people across the UK benefitted from witnessed the Olympic Torch Relay.

Whilst the torch itself was only in the Bailiwick for just over two hours, the local management committee overseeing the event in Guernsey teamed up with the States of Guernsey to put on a great showcase for the tens of thousands of spectators who lined the route along the St. Peter Port seafront.

This is the first video to feature in my showreel, and demonstrates a fair reflection of what was achievable given my current equipment and editing services at the time and I feel served as a great platform to then develop my skills. To this day I am happy to hold the title of being the only Sarnian to have been permitted access to film the 2012 Olympic Torch Relay in its entirety, whilst it was in Guernsey alongside the Official Broadcasting Media.
