Earlier this year we were offered the opportunity to jump in a plane to film some promotional video footage of the latest airline to service the Channel Islands. Waves were kind enough to have invited me up in the air for the trip, which was certainly going to be a once in a lifetime opportunity, as they took off two of the doors of the follow plane to enable the photographer and I to obtain uninterrupted shots of the new 2-crew aircraft in action.

We didn’t really know what to think when we began securing ourselves and our cameras to the harnesses attached to the plane. In no time at all we were on the runway, feeling every breath of air on our faces as the plane picked up speed. We witnessed the ground, just over touching distance away, passing by faster, faster and faster until we were airborne. We completed a 40 minute flight which enabled us to complete a loop of the west of the island before venturing over Sark and Herm to then obtain the lucrative East coast shots with the iconic recognisable St. Peter Port backdrop.

We provided them with the raw video footage we filmed from the plane and have left it with them to decide how best to use it going forward in their ongoing marketing campaign. We were glad they asked us along for the ride, as it beats travelling as a passenger in an Embraer 195 Jet Aircraft to London Gatwick every other weekend! Check out the short little snippet that they posted earlier today on their Facebook page. We wish them all the very best for the future and looking forward to flighing-high with them again very soon.
