We meet all of the deadlines set by our clients, and most recently that included a deadline of Christmas Day set by the Guernsey Language Commission, who tasked us with sharing their video linked to the festive holiday period. Jo & Yan challenged us to capture their fireside Christmas chat exploring commonly used Christmas terms in Guernésiais. A three camera setup was deployed to cover their conversation which we are pleased to report was completed in one take, Jo & Yan are such professionals!
The edit required careful care and attention to ensure the on screen translation was on point and clearly displayed, whilst the subtitling reflected the dual languages being spoken by both on screen subjects. We aren’t going to profess to being experts in the native language of the island, so we drew upon Yan’s skills to help clarify our initial transcription of the conversation. The video launched on Christmas Eve and can be viewed below. Bouan Noué.
