The Guernsey Community Awards is an annual event organised by the Guernsey Community Foundation, that was set up initially in 2011 to recognise the contribution the charitable sector made to the community here in Guernsey. This year was the 4th time we had been invited to film the event but we were just as excited about covering this year’s event as we had been previously. Each year has offered something slightly different and this year was no no exception, in that they welcomed the Guernsey Mind choir to the stage to perform as well as presenting a special award. This year was the first year we filmed the event on our new Sony FS5 as well as making good use of our Manfrotto slider which hasn’t been out of our studio as much as we would have liked, as the filming opportunities haven’t presented themselves since we purchased it earlier this year.

An audio feed from the sound desk of the technicians operating at the event provided us with a crystal clear sound feed for all the awards being presented on stage. This enabled us to concentrate on obtaining the reactions of the finalists receiving their awards on stage but also offered us the opportunity to be more creative with the type of shots and different angles we were able to achieve. Once again all the finalists featured on the evening all deserved praise and commendation however there could only be one winner.

As always we ensured we got the best shots of all winners as they ventured onto the stage and were best placed to hear their thoughts on winning and successfully cut each of their comments into the short 9 minute summary video which you can now watch below. Event coverage is just one services that we can offer, so if you have an event you want covered, please do get in touch.
