Video footage we have filmed has been screened at national award ceremonies, local charitable celebrations, on television and on a number of well known social networks. But I think yesterday’s footage shown in front of 200+ of Guernsey’s most senior civil servants, at a Senior Leadership Forum was a first.
The two videos we edited together utilised footage from the existing #HiddenDisabilities campaign filmed on behalf of the Guernsey Disability Alliances (GDA) We All Matter Eh? Project arm. They focused on customer service, with one focusing on tips for the public and the other showcasing the wide selection of good practice already in place here in Guernsey.
It utilised feedback from subjects whilst filming the #HiddenDisabilities campaign late last year and was made up of a compilation of different statements made by people with or closely working with a number of disabilities. We produced the videos within a relatively short turn around time and they were not only premiered at the event, held at the Performing Arts Centre, but they both also featured on social media later that morning as well as being highlighted in the GDA’s latest blog post.
We can always adapt the way we live our daily lives to better accommodate with those with greater needs than ours. Here’s hoping the videos go some way to making Guernsey a more inclusive society.
