It has been one of our biggest and largest projects to date, where planning started over a year ago. Our Director began playing table tennis during secondary school, and was hooked on the sport that was introduced to him whilst studying PE GCSE. He was recommended to contact Derek Webb, the GTTA President, back in 2005 who was more than happy then to welcome new members into the Club based down at Hougue du Pommier. Cut to the present day and, a little over a year ago, Derek, or Webby as he is known to his friends, reached out to us to share his idea of celebrating the Club’s 100th Anniversary. Given his love of the sport back then and the warm welcome he received, our Director jumped at the opportunity to help them celebrate this special anniversary by producing a variety of video content to enjoy at their celebratory dinner for over 200 past and present players.

Multiple filming sessions were completed at the Club’s headquarters, where players of all ages joined us for an interview on camera to share their fondest memories of playing the sport here in Guernsey; and for some players a sport which had taken them all around the world. A multiple camera setup was deployed with each subject being dual-mic’d and each interview was reset so no two interviews were the same. A total of 14 interviews were conducted over the period of a month. A total of 1.52TB of video footage was recorded for this project, and that excludes the hours of 32-bit raw audio recordings for each subject that were recorded separately.

We edited the interviews together to craft over 85 minutes worth of content which premiered at an event held at St. Pierre Park Hotel earlier this month. Not only did we supply all the video content for the event, we took all the complexity away from the event organisers as we co-ordinated with all AV suppliers to meet the requirements of the event, so that included the provision of all the digital screens & PA system setup at the event. We were present for the duration of the event and mixed their audio for the various speakers and video on their multiple screens – we also deployed two cameras at the venue to relay the in-person interviews to the screens for the 200 strong audience to see. We also edited photo slideshows together for them, designed bespoke graphics for the screens on the evening of the event and even helped complete the get-out of all the AV equipment post event!
