The Guernsey FC season is well underway, and as I write this latest blog post I am flying around 10,000ft above London as we head to our 3rd away game of the season. Last Tuesday evening we were treated to another cracking game. This time featuring the team of East Grinstead vs the Green Lions. It was a high scoring game with 6 goals being put past both keepers, finishing 3-3 after 95 minutes on the pitch.
Will Fazakerley, or Faz as he is known to his mates and fellow players on the pitch, scored an outrageous goal from well inside the Wasps half which rivalled, and very clearly beat, the strikes from Loaring and Gauvain made in the last few seasons, shot on or just before the half way line. It stood out clearly as the only moment of the match we could show on our social media pages so we produced a short roundup suitable to wet the appetites of many supporters and sceptic onlookers.
It generated quite a bit of attention, recording thousands of views only in a few hours. To date across both Guernsey FC social networks it has obtained close to 9,000 views. We are just awaiting the call from Soccer AM for permission to use the clip online. We’re stood next to our phone eagerly awaiting their call.
