Saturday 23rd September
Over the last weeks we have been working alongside the Guernsey Disability Alliance to help them increase their exposure of their latest awareness raising campaign in the lead up to the United Nations International Day of Persons with Disability (IDPwD) in December. How are we going to increase the exposure of their campaign, I hear you say?
With video, thats what! We have already filmed and published our first video which has obtained over 5,000 views since published earlier in the week. The aim of the campaign is to encourage organisations, community groups and individuals in Guernsey to #MakeAChange for greater inclusivity and accessibility, especially for the 13,000 disabled islanders and 4,000+ carers.
The campaign is running over the next few months and will involve us providing all the video content to supplement the campaign. Change cards, which suggest some simple changes you can make, can be found on their website. Topic areas include – which are continually being added to:
- Accessible tourism
- Improving your Disability awareness
- Improve your Employment and Disability knowledge
- Making website more accessible
- Improving the accessibility of your Employment Process
- Accessible print
- Becoming more Dementia Friendly
- Designing spaces for Neurological Conditions
All of these topic areas have change cards which have been designed to illustrate some key considerations in each topic area which your business, community group or school could adopt, as you pledge to support our campaign and #MakeAChange.
Read more about their campaign, and watch the video content that we have provided, on their website.
