Friday 5th May

And just like that it’s all over! Close to 50 games were played this season including the pre-season friendlies and FA Cup & Trophy matches Guernsey FC played both at home and away on the mainland and this season marked the return of LIVESTREAMING. We successfully streamed 47 games this season after we launched the service the day we travelled away to Thamesmead Town to play them in a replay. Yes, we encounter a few problems along the way, but as it was a new system we sort of expected it, but we successfully negotiated the UEFA Saturday afternoon streaming restrictions, and ensured our supporters in the Bailiwick and mainland fans didn’t miss any of the minutes our players were on the pitch.

With the technical support from Paul & PJ at, who provided all the technical know-how for the livestreaming this season and who’s company hosts the Guernsey FC TV broadcasting platform on the clubs website, coupled with the financial support from Karndean Design Flooring we ensured accessible coverage not only on the pitch but out in the community as well.

As we begin the start of our three month break before the next season kicks-off, and luckily we did manage survival, it gives us a brief moment to reflect on the season passed. Upon reviewing the viewing stats on GFCTV we have learned that the highlights of the games this season have obtained over 3,000 views with the full 90 minute playback coverage obtaining over 1000 views from our paying subscribers.

The last event in the Football calendar, apart from the Muratti for the players, was the Guernsey FC End of Season Gala Dinner. The formal affair provides an opportunity not only to look back and cherish the positive moments from the season just gone and relive some of the harder to watch moments, it gives us an opportunity to show footage recorded during the season that hadn’t previously made it onto the screen. The club are now making a number of those videos public for the rest of the clubs supporters to view who were unable to attend on the night.

If you haven’t already seen them online, you can already watch our summary of the awards evening itself via their Facebook page, you can also catch the community video and a behind the scenes look at all the travelling encountered by the players and management on those dreaded away trips. More videos will be available in due course so keep an eye out. I am going to enjoy a well earned rest before putting the finishing touches to a familiar but refreshed #GFCTV in 2017/2018! #COYGL
